What I Do

 

I conduct a wide-range of criminal forensic evaluations, including:

 

• PC 1368/1369: Competency to Stand Trial (misdemeanor only)

• PC 1026/1027: Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity

• Other Mental Status at the Time of the Offense evaluations

• PC 288.1 & other sex offender risk assessments

• Mental health diversion evaluations

• Juvenile transfer evaluations

• Violence risk assessments

• Mitigation for sentencing evaluations

• Malingering

• Psychodiagnostic

 

In addition to forensic evaluations, I can also consult on criminal cases, including trial preparation (when the case involves mental health issues) and preparing for cross-examination of opposing mental health expert witnesses. In the consultant role, I do not conduct any evalution, but provide research-based knowledge about mental health issues. Such issues often include:

 

• Mental illness and substance abuse

• Personality disorders

• Trauma and trauma-based disorders

• Psychological testing

• Standards of practice in forensic evaluations, especially insanity & competency evaluations 

 

I also am experienced in clinical, diagnostic, and personality assessments, which utilize the latest in psychological testing. See

 

I am also very interested in providing trainings and presentations within my areas of expertise. See

At this time, I do NOT accept the following types of forensic evaluations:

 

• Offender with Mental Disorder (OMD; PC 2962 & 2972)

• Sexually Violent Predator (SVP; WIC 6600)

• Felony Competency to Stand Trial (PC 1368/1369)

• Child-custody cases
