Who I Am
I am a forensic and clinical psychologist based out of San Luis Obispo County. My private practice focuses primarily on criminal forensic cases, but also clinical ones involving diagnostic and personality testing. I am also qualified to conduct certain types of civil forensic evaluations.
I received my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from Loma Linda University in 2006. Before that, I received a Master's degree in psychology from the same instituation in 2003. I completed my California license in psychology in 2007 (PSY21803) and it is currently active. For over ten years, I worked at DSH-Atascadero (formally Atascadero State Hospital) in their Forensic Services department, conducting forensic evaluations of committed patients. After leaving the hospital, I conducted Offenders with Mental Disorders (OMD, PC 2962), as well as some Sexually Violent Predator (SVP, WIC 6600), evaluations on prison inmates nearing their parole date for the state of California. Currently, I am a supervisor over the OMD evaluation unit out of Sacramento for the Department of State Hospitals.
Presently, my private practice includes both court-ordered evaluations from several local superior courts and forensic evaluations in which I am retained privately by attorneys, including deputy district attorneys, public defenders, and private defense attorneys. As a forensic evaluator, I am neutral as to the outcome of the evaluation and the case, and as such, am hired by both prosecution and defense, in addition to the court as its independent evaluator.
